When  I first got off the metro at Eastern Market, the smoke was blowing right down Pennsylvania Avenue creating a smog like effect in between the Capitol and the fire.
The constant stream of people crossing Pennsylvania Avenue create a great shot with the Capitol in the background.
As the wind started to shift, the smoke began to clear away from Pennsylvania Avenue and disperse higher up in the air.
The winds finally shifted and created a taller column of smoke.
I decided to shoot the HDR because the sun coming through the smoke would give this amazing post-apocalyptic effect with both the cars a people moving.
